Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko competes as a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thailand fighter in the UFC's flyweight division. Valentina is her older sister and a fellow UFC competitor. Antonina Shevchenko began her combat sport career with a Muay Thai Kickboxer and debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko won the tournament and beat Suzane Miller at the end of the tournament by an the unanimous vote. Antonina won a medal of silver in 2007 followed by an award of bronze in 2008, and a gold medal gold in the year 2011. Antonina was also named IFMA World Amateur Muaythai Champion in 2016 by the IFMA. Antonia began her professional journey in 2003, and she won her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016, and also the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in the year 2016. Antonina's most recent fight took place against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas at Phoenix Fighting Championship. The victory was a unanimous one. Antonina Schevchenko started the professional phase of her MMA profession in the year 2002 with the victory over Anara Baanova, during the KFK Championships of Kyrgystan. She went 3-0, after winning in the second round TKO. Her next two fights were won at WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. Shevchenko stopped her involvement in MMA to focus on the sport of kickboxing. She made her return to fight Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa by a unanimous vote as well as defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She quit the club in 2018 to join Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina used her superior striking techniques to TKO Nievera in the clinch by knees on the body. After this win, Antonina was given the chance to sign a UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Hitters Finale against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious in the unanimous decision, but she fell in the second round to Roxanne Modafferi on a split decision. Antonina bounced back from losing to defeat Lucie Pudilova via rear-naked choking submission in the second round at UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned an extra fight in the night for this fight. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record during her subsequent three matches, winning against Ariane Lipski, while losing to Katlyn Clarkagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina recently lost by TKO in round two to Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
